Get in the mood for apple season with this easy apple cake, perfect for the Pastry Flour and Nutmeg included in our August Pantry Discovery Box
Ingredients
1/2 Cup Melted Butter

3/4 Cup Maple Syrup or Honey
3 Eggs

1 1/2 Cups Maine Grains Pastry Flour
2 tsps Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Nutmeg
1-2 Apples, Sliced or Diced to place on top
2 tbsp Sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Prep a round cake pan with butter or grease
In a medium bowl combine butter, syrup and eggs. Beat till just combined
Add flour, baking powder, sea salt and nutmeg – stir till smooth
Evenly spread batter into your cake pan
Top with fruit – get creative with your fruit layout or just toss it on top
Sprinkle with sugar, if you like
Bake for 30-45 minutes or til golden brown
Invite someone for tea and enjoy! Makes a great gift too (yes for the teacher)!
