Luuma Chardonnay 2018
Lúuma is named after the original name of the Miwok village, Péta Lúuma. The Chardonnay is farmed and produced by Scribe in collaboration with us here at Revel Wine. Scribe is a partnership between brothers Andrew and Adam Mariani. The Mariani’s goal is to once again “transcribe the terroir” of this vineyard by farming organically and biodynamically, and relying on native yeast fermentations. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Native American Rights Fund / 1% for the Planet.
A lovely expression of Chardonnay from the cool Petaluma Gap on the Sonoma Coast. This CA Chard is not overly oaky or buttery. It shows how bright and complex the Chardonnay grape can be when its flavors are not muted by aggressive winemaking practices.
It is refreshing on the palate with flavors of lemon, yellow apple, tropical fruit, marcona almonds, and white flower. Their is still weight and a touch of creaminess to the palate making it still recognizable as California Chardonnay.
