Coffee for Community: This organic, fair trade coffee is named after the Royal Tar circus ship that sank near Deer Isle in 1836. Today, on this same island off the coast of Downeast Maine, neighbors Narrative Food and 44 North Coffee work together to build community locally and support small-scale producers around the world. A woman-owned roastery, 44 North sources these coffee beans from B Corp certified Coop Coffees, supporting farmer-owned cooperatives in Peru (Pangoa), Honduras (COMSA), and Ethiopia (Sidama Union) that invest in community development, education, and sustainable livelihoods. (Royal Tar dark roast. 6 oz.)
Walnuts for the Watershed: These certified organic walnuts come from our long-time partner Jutta of Manzanita Manor in Paso Robles, CA - one of our favorite vendors from our farm-to-table days in Los Angeles. Jutta's walnuts are dry-farmed with no irrigation beyond natural rainfall, a radical approach in a state where conventional walnut orchards consume thousands of gallons of precious water per pound produced. Truly nuts that are "cracked for a cause." (Dry-farmed heirloom walnuts. 5 oz.)
Roseline Pottery Ceramic Bowl: Each piece is wheel-thrown with careful attention to form and function in Maine. Perfect for displaying these sweet treats or countless other uses, this bowl brings beauty and purpose to any table while supporting local artisans who create functional art meant to last for generations. (Handcrafted ceramic bowl. 6 in x 2 in.)
