Through small donations across the food system, ZFP is able to fund farm projects that draw carbon straight from the atmosphere and store it underground, resulting in better food, thriving farms, and a restored climate.

The Stories Behind The Products

  • Lady & Larder Crackers: A 100% sister-owned and operated company from twin hospitality experts Sarah and Boo Simms. Together and apart, they've cooked all over the West Coast with a profound respect for the process of growing, preparing, and cooking food for people they love - including their sea salt and olive oil crackers with the perfect amount of crunch. (4 oz, 112 g)
  • Narrative Food Walnuts for the Watershed: These certified organic walnuts come from our long-time partner Jutta of Manzanita Manor in Paso Robles, CA. Jutta's walnuts are dry-farmed with no irrigation beyond natural rainfall, a radical approach in a state where conventional walnut orchards consume thousands of gallons of precious water per pound produced. (3.3" x 2.5" x 7.75", 5 oz)
  • Bona Furtuna Tapenade: Bona Furtuna is a harmonious 300-hectare organic farm that celebrates premium, organic fare to enrich biodiversity, promote sustainable farming, and preserve heritage food. Containing only black olives and olive oil, this savory black olive spread is a true celebration of this unique and popularly bittersweet stone fruit. B Corp Certified since November 2021, a proud member of 1% for the Planet, and certified with The Climate Label (Climate-Neutral). (4.93 oz, 140 g)
  • Rancho Meladuco "Imperfect" Sun-Ripened Medjool Dates: Fight food waste with ‘imperfect’ dates that are perfectly delicious. Rancho Meladuco's organic orchard began with just 4 original trees planted on their ranch in the Coachella Valley decades ago. After sharing her delicious fruit with friends and family, Joan (a mother of three, home cook, and backyard gardener) decided to begin farming dates with traditional practices. Every box is packed by hand. (9 oz)
  • East Fork CandleEast Fork designs, manufactures, and sells thoughtful, durable ceramics in Asheville, North Carolina. Every piece is crafted by hand with dynamic, iron-rich clays dug from the American Southeast and colored with glazes formulated and mixed in-house. B Corp Certified since May 2021 and donates a portion of sales to nonprofits in their community (including 5% of sales for hurricane recovery). (2.7" x 2.25" and 2.5 oz with a 25 hour burn time) Available in various colors.
  • Kalkedon Turkish Towel: An authentic Turkish towel handwoven with 100% premium Turkish cotton. Designed to withstand sand, this super-versatile blanket is perfect wherever you picnic. Available in various designs and colors. (70" x 40" and 14 oz)
  • Out of the Woods Walrus Cooler*: Sustainably made with washable paper, this best-selling, soft-sided cooler is the perfect addition for family-sized picnics, road trips, grocery store runs, beach days, and more. Out of the Woods is on a mission to support choices that are good for you and hte planet while also bringing light to environmental initiatives. A proud member of 1% for the Planet. (12.4” x 7.1” x 12.8” and holds 24 cans) *This item may require a larger non-branded box.

A Member of 1% of the Planet, Narrative Food is a woman-owned Certified B Corp operating in Los Angeles since 2010, and recently relocated to a rural island in Maine. With farm to table origins, we are deeply rooted in our local food system, with long-standing relationships with food innovators – many woman-owned. From millers of heirloom grains, to bean-to-bar chocolate-makers, to producers of upcycled cookie mix, or the best mole outside of Oaxaca; our gifts highlight the craftsmanship of small-scale, diverse makers, whom we have been working with for over a decade.
